The Blog

A reset routine is the perfect way to start a new month or begin each week. If you have My Dream Life Blueprint Workbook, you can follow the prompts to create your own reset routine, but I wanted to give you an inside look into what mine looks like.

Montage of woman going through a routine

First, I set my phone to airplane mode so I wouldn’t be distracted. Then, I grabbed my workbook to map out my routine. I decided how long I wanted to work on my routine and used a timer to keep me on track. I started by writing down my thoughts and the activities I wanted to do that I knew would fill my cup the most. From there, I mapped out the month ahead in my planner, as well as the week and day ahead. It was a great way to set up my goals, outline what I wanted to achieve, and get everything out of my brain and onto paper. It felt really good to be able to do that and focus on my goals!

After I got everything on paper, it was time to get changed into my workout clothes. I tidied up my closet a little bit because that was on my list, then I went downstairs to do some yoga. Sometimes I’ll turn on a space heater and a humidifier during my yoga sessions to create a detox effect. Another thing I’ve been doing is putting on some ankle weights to kick it up a notch. This, paired with the space heater and humidifier… oh my gosh, you really feel it! I usually just find a quick yoga class on YouTube that’s 20-30 minutes long, and it feels super good!

Woman making juice

Once I finished my yoga session, I went back upstairs and decided to make a green juice. My go-to recipe is one celery stalk, two apples (cored), four oranges (peeled), two cucumbers, some pineapple spears, and a little bit of ginger root. That amount usually makes enough for two servings, so I made a glass for Andre as well.

I brought my juice upstairs with me to dye my hair. I thought this was perfect for a reset routine, especially at the beginning of the month! I love putting oil in my nebulizer and my towel warmer, then heating up the towels before getting into the tub. I also put on an eye mask and decided to tidy up the bathroom a little bit while I waited for my hair to process. When my hair was finished, I took a bath and did a hair mask. It was a whole vibe!

After my bath, I made my way back downstairs and put on a fresh set of press-on nails. The trick for longevity with press-ons is filing down your nails and using a nail dehydrator before putting them on. I also love using glue that has a brush tip; that way, you can control where the glue is going. I’ve found these glues last longer than the ones that come with the actual nails. I can get about two weeks out of a set!

Next, I did my skincare routine. I love doing a facial massage using a gua sha tool, then I go in with serum and cream. I decided to invest in good skincare because I was using a lot of different brands. Once I stayed consistent with one quality brand, I felt like it made a big difference! I also love using a lip mask. It’s probably my favorite product ever! Once my hair was dry, I put in some hair growth serum and did an easy makeup routine. I applied tinted moisturizer, liquid blush, a little eyeliner, and some mascara.

Woman reading a book

To make things cozy and set those spa reset vibes, I love playing Disney spa music from Disneyland Paris. It’s so good! I set up on the floor with my music and Carl, and read my book for a little while.

Part of my goals and reset routine is to spend more time outside. I grabbed my earbuds, put on a podcast, and went outside for a little walk. After my walk, I headed back upstairs to tidy up the bedroom, which was also on my list. If you’re having a really bad day, just make your bed. That’s something that can completely turn your day around!

I decided to turn on a few nebulizers around the house with my favorite eucalyptus spa scent. It just elevates the whole house! Not only do they humidify the space, but the eucalyptus smells amazing. Then, I grabbed a cute cuppie to make a drink, chilled in the living room, and checked off the remainder of tasks on my list in my workbook.

I loved going through my reset routine with you! Taking the time to focus on self-care and set intentions really helps me feel centered and ready to tackle whatever comes my way. Whether it's a new month, a fresh week, or just a challenging day, having a routine that grounds me makes all the difference. I hope this glimpse into my reset routine inspires you to create your own. Remember, it's all about finding what makes you feel good and supports your goals. So, grab your planner, put on some calming music, and carve out some time for yourself - you deserve it!

The renovations on our house have started, so Andre and I decided it was a good excuse to get away and take a little staycation. We didn’t have any plans aside from booking a hotel room. We went wherever the wind took us, and you’re coming along for the ride!

Montage of woman on vacation

We headed out to the Fairmont Tremblant, which was about a two-hour drive. We could see the ski lift from our room, which they turn into a luge in the summer. It’s very Switzerland-esque! Once we got settled, we went to the pool, and I got some reading in. My current book is The Coworker, which is really good. Freida McFadden is one of my favorite authors! After we finished up at the pool, we went up to our room, where I indulged in a little self-care. I colored my hair, bleached my teeth, and did a face mask. You might think it’s weird to color my hair in a hotel room, but I actually made less of a mess there than I do at home. That evening, we had martinis at the hotel bar, then enjoyed a delightful dinner in the nearby village. We had spaghetti, pizza, and escargot, and it was all delicious!

Mont-Tremblant Village

We had a great time on day two. We got up and had some coffee by the pool - they have a beautiful terrace outside! We had brunch on a cute garden patio in the village, then shopped around at all the little stores. We ended up getting some door hooks and two wood plaques for the house. I thought we could put the hooks in one of our bedrooms or bathrooms, and use the wood plaques as coasters on our coffee table so we don’t ruin the wood. After we finished shopping, we went back to the hotel and hung out at the pool. Andre got a workout in, and then we had some lunch. I had a burger with macaroni and cheese on it, and it was absolutely amazing. Andre had a fried chicken sandwich with maple syrup mayo. Tell me you’re in Canada without telling me you’re in Canada, lol. After lunch, we took much-needed naps.

Post-nap, I went through my skincare routine, used my gua sha tool to do some depuffing, and got ready for the evening. I don’t have a lot of makeup left, which I love. I threw out, got rid of, and donated most of my makeup, and just kept a few things. If you’re ever overwhelmed by the amount of makeup you have, this is your sign to get rid of it. A lot of it is probably expired anyway! I use a complexion booster under my eyes as a concealer, then I mix together a tinted moisturizer, glowing primer, and a tinted serum for my face. If you’re not a no-coverage girl, but you’re not a full-coverage girl, this is it! I kept two blushes, one by Rare Beauty and the other by Tower 28. My best friend got the Tower 28 blush for me, and I get so many compliments when I wear it! I have a bronzer by the same brand, and I use it as contour or eyeliner. I also kept a highlighter, and that’s it! All the makeup I own now fits into one little bag. I love it!

After finishing getting ready, we went to have some drinks before dinner. We met up with some awesome people, and it was great to just enjoy each other’s company and be totally unplugged. It was one of those evenings that reminded us how important it is to slow down and savor these simple, meaningful moments.

Woman posing in front of garage door

The next day, we drove home. There was still some work going on at the house, so we took our time in an effort to dodge the noise. We went into town, did some shopping, then went to the grocery store. When we got home, the driveway and garage were done! The driveway was paved with recycled asphalt for a more low-maintenance, easygoing feel. If we had used straight-up asphalt, it would have gotten dirty super easily because you have to go through country roads to get to the driveway. They also ran electric wires under the driveway, so we can eventually put up a Dutton Ranch-style fence along each side of the road with lights. The garage door was wood before, and now it’s a black ranch-style door with windows. This now gets us started on more projects! We want to get new lighting and put black accents around the windows and awning detail - just to update the outside of the house a little bit.

We took a walk down to the mailbox because we got some packages that I was really excited about! There are these things called Cutie Cuffs that I’ve been seeing on the internet. They are slap bracelets with different characters on them, and they come in a blind box, so you don’t know what you’re getting. I’ve tried to order them before, but the order would always get canceled because they’re going viral. I was finally able to get my hands on some, and unboxing them is the most fun part of the process! The first one I opened was Pumbaa from The Lion King. I’m thinking I can put them on my backpack when I go to the parks. Pumbaa will be perfect for Animal Kingdom! The next two I opened were Marie from The Aristocats. She’s cute, but I didn’t like that movie as a child, so it didn’t hit home for me. The next one was Baymax from Big Hero 6, which I was the most excited about! The last Disney cuff was Rafiki from The Lion King. I also got some that were characters from the Harry Potter series. In that bunch, I got Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and two Fawkes Phoenix. I was slightly disappointed with the characters I got, but it’s about the hunt. I kind of like when these things happen so I can send treasures to you guys!

Oogie Boogie hair clip

The other package I got had some Halloween things that were guaranteed to be a good time because they weren’t blind boxes. Last year, I got a ghost hair clip from Marshall’s that I wore all season long, and I loved it. This year, I saw an Oogie Boogie clip at the store, and I thought it was amazing. I also got Mickey and Minnie ghost clips that glow in the dark. As of right now, I’m not going to the Not So Scary party, but these clips will definitely be used! The last thing I got is more for Halloween Horror Nights, which are Beetlejuice sandworm hair sticks. I used to wear these all the time when I was younger (the real millennials will know). I kind of love them!

Speaking of Halloween… we’ve officially flipped the switch to fall on the Daily Grind Instagram page. The fall launch is going to be next level! Last year, it sold out in about five minutes. This year, we’ve ordered more inventory, and I’m beyond excited and proud of everything that’s coming. There was an insane amount of love and time poured into it! The feedback we got from everyone was that you wanted it sooner, so it will be launching before the end of August. We worked really hard to make that happen! There are things other than covers that will be launching, which will be divulged very soon. You’re going to freak out!

Woman posed with dog

For the past four years, we’ve done a Daily Grind series along with the daily videos on my YouTube channel throughout October. We will be doing that again this year in the form of a 31-day challenge, and it will be the biggest year we’ve ever done. It’s going to be insane!

There have also been a lot of questions about the Daily Home. Don’t worry, it’s not going away! We had a huge summer sale and sold out of a ton of candles. Right now, all we have left from the original collection are the Morning Routine and Daily Grind candles. There will be some fall goodies launching soon as well, so make sure you stay tuned!

I hope you enjoyed coming along on our staycation, unboxing packages with me, and learning more about what’s coming this fall. It was so fun to get away and share the behind-the-scenes with you. These little escapes always recharge my creativity, and I’m even more excited for what’s next. Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support means the world to me!

Today, I want to help you uncover some epiphanies that might be just beneath the surface. These little "aha" moments can be the key to realigning with what truly matters in your life. Sometimes, all it takes is a bit of reflection to figure out the next steps on your journey.

Woman speaking

Let’s get started!

1. What are you fighting for?

One thing I like to pause and consider, whether things are going well or not, is: "What am I doing all of this for?" By "this," I mean your goals, dreams, and hopes. Usually, the answer isn’t simply “more money.” It’s what success can afford you in terms of freedom, love, or memories. Sometimes, it’s a gift you can give to someone else, like helping them gain more freedom or confidence in themselves.

Are you fighting for peace, love, happiness, and growth under your own roof, for you and your family? That’s what I was fighting for: a happy family (Andre, Carl, and me). Yes, that includes my dog! I wanted Carl to be able to go for a daily walk without being bombarded by people who wanted to socialize with him, because he doesn’t enjoy socializing. As for me, I wanted more space to do things like cook dinner with my husband, to grow together, and to have the time to truly enjoy that. These are the things that matter to me.

2. What can you get angry about?

Usually, you can change more in your life by focusing on what makes you angry rather than what excites you. I know that’s not ideal, but it worked for me - using anger as motivation. Maybe you’re angry about how you’ve been treated, how you’ve treated yourself, the boundaries you haven’t set, or the fact that your current circumstances are unacceptable. So many people wait for their “rock bottom” to be something out of the movies, expecting things to get way worse… but do you really need to let it get to that point? Nope. No matter how bad things have gotten, don’t let them get worse. Make some changes in your life and start taking action right now. That’s what I did, and it truly worked.

3. What can you change?

Now that you’ve identified what makes you angry, what can you change in your life today? Not next Monday, next month, or next year—today. It doesn’t have to be something huge; it can be something small. Maybe it’s mapping out your top ten goals or refusing to tolerate a certain behavior. For me, I needed to shift my personal mindset. I refuse to waste my time complaining, constantly worrying, and mindlessly scrolling on my phone. Not many people realize just how much time is wasted on these activities!

4. What do you need to call it quits on?

With this fourth and final question, I hope you experience a small epiphany. Is there something in your life right now that you need to say, “We’re done” to? I’m not necessarily talking about a life partner. It could be a situation you keep allowing, the way you’re treated, the way you speak to yourself, a current routine, a bad habit, or even a person in your life. It could be anything that’s holding you back from the peace, happiness, and growth you deserve.

Letting go isn’t always easy, but it’s necessary for making room for the things that truly matter. Sometimes, you need to create space for new opportunities, healthier relationships, and better habits. Take a minute to think about what you’re holding onto that no longer serves you. Remember, it’s okay to let go. It’s a step toward creating the life you really want.

I hope today you’ve had a meaningful breakthrough to help you find your why. Reflect on these four questions, take action where needed, and share your epiphanies in the comments! We’re all in this together, and your insights might just inspire someone else to make a positive change too.
